Welcome to Dr. Paul Rafalides Public School 33!

I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to lead the PS 33 school community known for its culture of success.

The 2025-26 school year marks my 24th  year committed to the students of the Jersey City Public Schools. My career began as a middle school mathematics teacher in 2002 and I have also had the opportunity to serve as a K - 8 Mathematics Supervisor and Assistant Principal. 

As Principal, it is a privilege to work alongside the talented staff, supportive families, and amazing students at PS 33. I am committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and academically challenging environment where every child can thrive. 

At Dr. Paul Rafalides, our dedicated staff work collaboratively to design lessons that spark curiosity, build strong academic foundations, and provide personalized learning empowering all students to succeed. Each day students engage in hands-on lessons, designed to build real world problem solving skills.

Beyond academics, PS 33 offers rich opportunities in the arts, music, and extracurricular activities that encourage collaboration, creativity, and confidence. Our accelerated art program, school choir, clubs, performances and family events, encourage students to explore their passions and showcase their talents.
